The Bottom Line is a business discussion programme broadcast in the UK on BBC Radio 4 and the BBC News Channel, and internationally on the BBC World Service and BBC World News. It is a co-production between BBC News and The Open University.

History

The programme began in 2006 and is presented by the BBC's former Economics Editor and Today Programme presenter, Evan Davis. It is produced by the BBC's Radio Current Affairs department. As of September 2013 it runs 26 weeks of the year in three series, at 8.30 pm on Thursdays on Radio 4, with a repeat at 5.30 pm on Saturdays. Starting in February 2009 the radio version of the programme was also broadcast on BBC World Service radio.

Format

The programme is a studio discussion which generally includes three or four business leaders or entrepreneurs talking about business issues in response to five or six topical questions put to the group by the presenter.

Television

Launched on 14 February 2009, a television recording of the show airs on Saturday and Sunday evenings at 9.30 pm on the BBC News Channel.
